Whales, Dolphins, and Octopus…Oh My!

Nine of us booked a private full day sail from Playa Potrero on a 50 foot sail boat with Brad was a fabulous experience. Despite the fact that the day was storming-thunder, lightning, and a deluge of rain, we had a fabulous experience saiing the coastline of Costa Rica. We stopped in a beautiful bay for a couple of hours of snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment and floating noodles are provided. The guide, Jonathan, dove for octopus and other creatures for us to see. He also gathered fresh oysters and scallops for a ceviche. Our onboard hot lunch consisted of tasty chicken tacos with plentiful beer, wine, and tropical drinks. On the way back to the beach we sailed up close to humpback whales and dolphins danced at the bow. The sunset was breathtaking and by the time we got into the small motor boat to take us to shore, it was dark. We all thoroughly enjoyed our adventure on the Serendipity and recommend it to anyone who wants to get out on the sea, regardless of the weather. Cost was $150 per person for a full day with an 11 am boarding and 6pm finish back at beach.
